Here is another simple way for you to stay connected with The Oaks - twitter. Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

How to sign up

PHONE

To get updates on your phone just text the number 40404 the words "follow" and the username of the person you want to follow. If you want to follow The Oaks just text "follow the_oaks" to 40404. You'll receive a text from Twitter asking for a username and it's done, you're set up. You'll now be sent updates to your phone via text message.

DESKTOP

There are a number of pieces of free software such as Tweetdeck and Twhirl that you can use to follow people on twitter. Many people, however, follow updates from the twitter website. They simply bookmark their page and check daily. Go to Twitter.com and click the Get Started box. Follow the directions and you'll be ready to go. Once you're set up, type "follow the_oaks" in the "what are you doing" box and you'll begin receiving updates from The Oaks.
