Meet Paul Hurckman

Paul's family: My family really loves to hang out together.  My wife Candace thinks she's funny, which makes us both laugh. She's the greatest mommy and wife I know - seriously.  We have a beautiful daughter, Lola - she really is funny, already. And Lola has a new baby brother, Justus.  He has made me fall back in love with the mystery of life.

Ministry Role: Pastor of Spiritual Formation and The Gathering (18 to 30+)

Dream vacation: Candace and I, in Africa, to hike Kilimanjaro, to work at an orphanage, and to catch a few matches of the World Cup.

Regular order at Starbucks: Tall drip - its the cheapest.

Favorite movie: Dead Poets Society

Life motto: More than just more of the same (Thanks Kriste).

Favorite scripture: Hebrews 10:39 - Irrepressible (Thanks ctz).

Things that fascinate me: Watching a campfire burn.

People I would like to meet: Ghandi, Nelson Mandela and Brett Favre (again).

Music that moves me: Keith Green, Dave Matthews (especially recorded live) and my daughter singing.

Peeves: People who use buzz words too much in everyday conversation (even though I do it too).

Life-changing moment: when I decided to trust 'love as choice' over 'love as feeling'.

Fear: That I smell and no one will tell me.

Favorite book: The Count of Monte Cristo

In my spare time I...tickle Lola and tease my wife.

What is weird about you? I won't brush my teeth when I go camping - even for a week, especially for a week.
