Subheader Jon Allen1

Nick Name: PhenomeJon

Jon's family: Married Ivy on November 13, 2004; Solomon (son) Jade (daughter) and Karrington (daughter)

Day job: Video Editor for Dr. Tony Evans.

Ministry Role: Pro Video Player operator.

I am originally from Dallas.

I serve as a media guru because I want to give back to God the talents that He has given me, to illuminate His greatness as a member of His body for the world to behold.

I came to The Oaks because... me and my wife had just got married and we were looking for a church home we both would agree on. We were driving down the highway and saw the big sign and said why don't we check them out and we did and we have been here since then.

Funniest Oaks moment: One year for Mother's Day, we did a video and there was a young man, I don't know his name, but he was singing, "Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory". It was what his mother would sing to him in the morning growing up and I just thought it was hilarious.

When I am not at The Oaks I spend time with my family just hanging out at the house.

Life motto: Live carrying out God's plan.

Most memorable Oaks moment was when my son, Solomon, got baptized.

Favorite scripture: Mathew 6:33 & Ephesians 1:22-23

When and where did you get saved: I don't know the exact date but I know the moments when He came to me. It was a process, but I told Him that I would serve Him if He healed my circumstance and He did so. That was when the journey began for me.

Life-changing moment is when He spoke to me saying if I took another hit of marijuana He was going to take all of what I have and seem to have, and at that time what He showed me was greater than getting high. Since then I've been clean for 12 years.

In my spare time I read my Bible, do gospel hip-hop, pray, write scripts, paint, meditate.
