Epic Kids FAQ's

Subheader Kids Preschool Boy

1. It's my first time. What happens when I arrive?

A leader will meet you at the check-in desk to receive your child, your check-in slip, and any other necessary items. Please check in and note any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies and special needs.
If you are needed to return to your child's classroom, you will be paged. The pager will vibrate, so please hold or wear the pager at all times.

2. What do I need to bring?

When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:

-Two or three disposable diapers. No cloth diapers, please.
-Pacifier or any other item your child may need for comfort. Since we are not set up for this on the pre-k side, this rule only applies to our nursery.
-A complete change of clothes in case your child may require that.
Please label all personal items with your child's first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This helps us keep track of your child's items.

3. What about goodbyes?

After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for the worship service. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the service is completed. If your child cries for an extended period of time (around 10 minutes), we will page you.

4. What if my child needs me during the service?

In the event that your child needs you, one of our leaders will have you paged. Please check your pager frequently and keep it on you.

5.How do I pick up my child after the service?

When you are ready to pick up your child, you may go to any check-in station to return your pager and receive your check-out slip. Please have your check-out slip ready to give to the Tiny Town leaders when you go to the Tiny Town station. We ask that you make sure all your child's personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time. Items not claimed after one month will be donated to a charitable organization.

6.What will my child be doing?

We believe even our littlest ones can learn! Regular learning experiences are planned and lessons are reinforced with songs, play and supervised activities designed with the ability of the children in mind.

7. What do kids ages 0 to preschool learn?

- Infants and toddlers

Christ's love for children is demonstrated by providing a safe and clean environment in which the children can sing and play.

- Two-year-olds

begin learning Bible stories, as well as the concepts of friendship and helping by observing the actions of their small-group leader.

- Three, four- and five-year-olds

expand their Bible knowledge during large group programs that include relevant Bible teaching, creative drama and high-energy music.

8.What kind of security check do the volunteers go through?

Screening for all Kids Ministry volunteers includes background, legal and reference checks, as well as personal interviews with Kids Ministry staff.

9.What about snacks?

We provide snacks for all your children, unless otherwise directed. The food items consist of cheerios, goldfish, cheez-its, graham crackers, animal crackers, fruit snacks, nilla wafers, and pretzels. The only drinks we provide are water. If your child has a food allergy, please inform the leader when you check in your child.

10.What about my child's health?

We operate on a well-baby program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the nursery, preschool, or kids church while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us keep Tiny Town a healthy place for everyone.
